Thanks for stopping by Kpop and a Muffin.  This site is for Kpop fans of all ages!  Whether you have been a Kpop fan for years or just now getting into the craze, you’ve come to the right place.  It’s never to late to join the Kpop world!  The best thing about Kpop is that there is no age limitation.  Fans of all ages have joined this world wide craze.

Though there are various Kpop groups, the ones that are becoming popular overseas are the Kpop idol groups (boybands and girlbands).  Kpop groups have been coming to the States to hold concerts and fan meets in hopes to gain more international fans.  Though they are popular in Korea, if they are able to gain international fans, their popularity will become even more evident.  Many groups even debut in Japan and release their title songs in Japanese to gain additional fans!  Because of this crossover from Korea into the States, in addition to Korean music becoming popular, things like Korean dramas, Korean foods as well as Korean makeup and beauty have also become very popular in the last few years.  There’s even the term, HALLYU which means Korean wave.  Look around and you will see U.S. stores selling many Korean products.  Trader Joe’s sells kimchi, bibimbap and even pa jeon (korean pancakes).  Retail stores like CVS, Sephora and Target are also beginning to sell Korean beauty products!  Hallyu is everywhere!

To really celebrate “all things hallyu ” each year, there is a Korean conference called KCON that is now held annually all over the world.  People from all over the world attend the various cities in which KCON is held!  KCON brings Kpop, K Beauty and K foods all together in once place!  Here in Los Angeles, it is a 3 full day conference with a concert from several kpop groups/artists to end each night.  It’s great for fans who are just now getting into the current Korean trend as well as really any veteran Kpop fan.  Tickets usually sell out so if you plan on attending, make sure you get your tickets right when they go on sale.  Check out KCON’s website to get more information on this year’s cities, dates and artists!
